San Diego’s startup Firestorm Labs has developed a new method of manufacturing small drones.
This rapid production method depends on the three key points: use high 3D printing to make the body, simplify the design to reduce complexity and speed up the global production scale. This method is flexible and effective and can meet a large number of control requirements.
After completing the printing of a fuselage, you can quickly integrate devices based on the task requirements, such as electronic warfares, data links, sensors and even explosives. The modular design allows drones to adapt quickly to meet the various task needs. Compared to traditional manufacturing, it takes 6 to 8 weeks of cycles and production can be completed in a few days.
The manufacturing cost of this drone is only 20% of the traditional method, and time has also shortened 90%. This combination of innovative models that combine rapid production, low cost and flexibility offer economic and effective solutions for various key tasks and also establishes new standards for drone manufacturing.
