Its sleek, modern aesthetic is perfect for a home office or workshop.

Core Features and Performance: What It Highlights

  1. Excellent out-of-the-box usability: This is arguably the biggest advantage of the X1 Pro. Automatic bed leveling (using capacitive sensors) significantly reduces the most common pain points for beginners. Preconfigured slicing profiles bundled with the printer allow you to quickly print high-quality models.

  4. Stable operation and connection: Once dialed in correctly, the printer ran reliably. Filament runout sensor gives you extra peace of mind. Connectivity via a USB stick is standard; Wi-Fi functionality is becoming more common among competitors, but it was very solid on the X1 Pro I used.

Experience limitations and considerations

  • Material restrictions: While PLA prints beautifully, trying to go beyond (such as complex ABS, PETG requiring higher temperatures/enclosures) or highly flexible filaments can cause problems. The PTFE lined hot end becomes the limiting factor in sustained high temperature materials.
  • Without heating chamber: Enclosed building areas help, but lack active heating. ABS or ASA significantly benefits from a heated chamber to prevent warping, and getting the best results requires extensive tuning and environmental control.
    *Matrix level adjustment:* While the auto-leveling is excellent, fine-tuning z-offset* is critical for perfect first layer extrusion and adhesion, especially swapping build surfaces. New users may need guidance here.
  • Medium speed: Don’t expect lightning-fast, industrial-grade speeds. At higher speeds, visible artifacts (such as ringing) sometimes occur, but adjusting the acceleration/jerk settings can help.
