After more than 20 years of continuous development, FreeCAD has announced a historic milestone: version 1.0 is officially released. This open source CAD software loved by users around the world now supports all mainstream platforms, including Windows, Mac and Linux, and its source code is hosted on the GitHub platform.
FreeCAD version 1.0 successfully addresses two long-standing technical issues: the topology naming problem and the lack of native assembly modules. The topology naming problem has always been considered a weakness of FreeCAD’s parametric design. This time, a major breakthrough was achieved thanks to the algorithm of community developer Realthunder. The new system improves the model’s ability to cope with topological changes and significantly improves the stability and reliability of the parametric model.

- Sketcher Workbench: New offset tools and contextual dimensioning capabilities streamline the sketching workflow.
- Part Workbench: Mirroring and scaling tools have been improved and the operating logic is more intuitive.
- TechDraw Workbench: Introduces snapping features and new drawing tools to make creating technical drawings more efficient.
