People’s Daily: 22 days, 3 workers, a two -story building printed in 3D with ceiling

Boli Technology's Yangzhou base goes into production: 3D printing enters a new era of mass production of multi-million dollar terminal parts

On April 3, during the 3D 3D printing R&D base of Three Gorges University in Yichang, Hubei, the staff organized a ceremonial ceremony for an experimental building on a two -story 8 -meter -top covering an area of 100 square meters.

This small building, which started construction in early March, only took 22 days and used 3 workers. It is the first double floor building printed in 3D in my country.

How to print 3D a double floor building?

Traditional brick walls are mainly masonry structures and are glued with mortar. “Our 3D impression is a pure concrete mortar. Columns, walls, floors and floors are all printed in one room. Its strength is higher than that of traditional bricks and has higher printing precision.” Li Yangbo, technical director of the project and associate professor at the Sanxia University and Environment Conservation School, said you just have to adjust the 3D printer to the number of layers and floor heights that must be printed, and you can start automatically by clicking on a click to print.

Near this small building is a 3D printer that prints this small building. The printer extends over 12 meters, like a portico. Li Yangbo presented that it is the third generation printer, and their team took three years to develop it.

“We have updated and replaced more than 20 equipment sets. After thousands of tests, we have crossed the difficulties of large -scale printers in terms of precision control, structural continuity and printing stability.” He said Li Yangbo.

During the experiment, the Li Yangbo R&D team checked the difference in the printer nozzle at the same position twice by the setting and the retail technology adjustments on site at 0.1 mm, and the printing gap did not exceed 2 mm, and there were no printing defects in the entire building.

“After more than 3 meters, we adjusted the power method and also adjusted the concrete mixture ratio. From the pumping method to the initial screw to hydraulic pumping, the pressure is higher and the fluidity is better, guaranteeing the continuity of the printing.” Li Yangbo said that during the construction of the house, an AI algorithm had also been used to plan the printing path, which has considerably shortened the empty time of the print head and improved printing efficiency.

Is it sure for the 3D double floor building?

On the scene, the journalist has seen cracks on many walls of the small building. The journalist could not help asking: “Is the house sure?”

“The reason for the cracks is that the temperature is around 30 ℃ on the day of the payment, the wind speed is relatively high and the surface humidity evaporates more quickly, so the cracks are generated.” Li Yangbo introduced: “Cracks only appear on non -load -bearing walls and are all in a normal controllable beach, and have no impact on the safety of the overall structure.”

In addition, the overall load of the house is a frame system made up of 15 columns and average bundles and slabs. The 3D printed shell is the shell of the loading column and the median part is hollow.

“Once the loading column is printed at the level of the floor slab, lift the steel cage in the hollow part and lift it with the mass beam steel bars to form a whole, then attach and install the steel bars of the steel bars of the second layer slab in place to sink for the concrete of the columns, of ground. ” He said Li Yangbo.

Not only that, after a meticulous observation, you can see that the four corners of the wall of this house are on the same horizontal line, with very good rectitude, and the walls are also designed with special curved shapes. “The house was very fluid and smooth when it was printed, and the structure of the house was also very stable, just like the lifespan of a traditional house,” said Li Yangbo.

How will a 3D printed house be used?

Depending on the relevant data, the average price range of rural self-construct houses per square meter in 2024 is between 1,000 and 1,500 yuan. The cost of building this house is around 1,000 yuan per square meter, which is equivalent to the cost of building many rural houses.

“It takes 5 workers to build this two -story building in the traditional way, 2 months. This time, the house is printed with 3D technology, and it only takes 1 month to finish it. Models and workers can be considerably saved.” Li Yangbo said that this 3D printer has also made a green construction and can use phosphype, construction of solid waste, etc. as manufacturing of raw materials to obtain the printing of fiberglass, ceramic, plastics, etc.

Once the house is printed, it will be used for technical experimental tests. Once this technology is on the market in the future, equipment can also print fiberglass, ceramics, plastics, etc., and be used in construction scenarios such as municipal pipelines, drainage facilities and landscape sculptures.

“Some time ago, a foreign construction association sent a team of 10 people to inspect and showed great interest in printers.” Li Yangbo presented.
