Nike published its first 3D printed sneaker, the Air Max 1000, in November 2024. Currently, the shoe is at the price of US $ 210 (equivalent to around 1500 RMB), and is available in four colors, and should be officially published this summer.
The Air Max 1000 is made in one piece using the platform of the German 3D printing company Zellerfeld, with a transparent rod and no lace required. It should be noted that although the product was published last year, it was officially launched for half a year.
It is assumed that the main reason can be a limited production capacity. The 3D 3D printing plant at the start of Zellerfeld’s 3D was only equipped about 200 printing equipment, and after reaching cooperation with Nike, Zellerfeld announced the expansion of the number of equipment to 5,000 to meet mass production needs.
In addition, this is the first time that an international shoe brand has used FDM 3D printing technology to produce shoe products. Previously, whether it is relaxed adidas shoes, Asics Asics and Asta4d sneakers from Star World Line, they all used 3D printing technology DLP Light.
PS: it also seems to mean that “everyone can make shoes” is a step closer to us. After all, it is not difficult to have an FDM 3D printer.
